LG’s round G Watch R performed significantly better than its original squarish G Watch. Pebble shipped a total of 1 million units from its 2013 launch through to the end of 2014. Fitbit remained the global leader in the basic wearable band market. Xiaomi shipped more than a million of its $13 Mi Bands.

Xiaomi Partner Raises $35M In Series B Funding

Huami now values itself at US$300M. Xiaomi did not participate in this round of funding, however, participated in a US$40M funding round for US-based Misfit.

Misfit Eyes More Growth In China

Misfit-shineTECH CRUNCH - Dec 2 - Misfit has raised an additional $40M in a Series C funding round led by GGV Capital and including Xiaomi, JD.com, Shunwei and existing investors. The new funding brings Xiaomi and JD.com on board as strategic partners, which reflects a deepening of Misfit’s commitment to the wearables market in China, which currently drives about a third of its total business.

Xiaomi headquartersTECH2 - Nov 21 - After being the third-largest smartphone vendor in the world for this quarter, the company wants to enter the smartwatch arena. This isn't the company's first wearable device. Xiaomi has already been selling the Mi Band for a while now. Apart from smartwatches, the company is also working on a 4G LTE smartphone which could be priced for an approximate Rs 4,020 making it cheaper than the RedMi 1S.

Xiaomi-mi-band-enCNET NEWS – July 22 – The Xiaomi Mi Band fitness tracker will retail for $13. The Mi Band's battery will last 30 days. It also serves as a discrete alarm clock. The most interesting feature is its ability to unlock a user's Xiaomi smartphone without a password if the phone is held in the same hand as the band is worn. Holding the phone in the other hand will not unlock it. Global availability is still unknown.
