WAI - Oct 29 - Gitex tech conference in Dubai was chock full of tech targeted at making public departments more effective. Ajman was prominent in showing off some interesting new tech and 'Rassed' caught my eye. This was officially out last week, and marks the height of citizen reporting. Citizens can report potholes, and a lot more. One wonders when crime-in-motion will be effectively reported real-time so police can respond more quickly without having to take a 911 call, or 999 in the case of UAE. This will eventually happen. Citizens empowered? I think so, but its controversial stuff. Your comments please. See vid. - Mark Brooks
WAI - Oct 29 - One of the problems with bluetooth headsets is when they run dry halfway through a call. Why hasn't anyone designed a quick-swap battery that can be part of the outer shell? And why hasn't anyone designed a furry cover, dammit? Well, they just did! See vid. - Mark Brooks
WAI - Oct 28 - This is a grand demonstration of AR at Gitex conference in Dubai last week. I tried to catch the dinosaur, but momma came running. - Mark Brooks
WAI - Oct 27 - Dubai has a lot of sand. Here's how discerning beach goers can clean their own private patches of beach. This Dronyx beach 'roomba' does the job, and doubles as a beach party speaker-toting bot. - Mark Brooks
WAI - Oct 26 - I found a lot of unusual gear at Gitex tech conference in Dubai last week, but I was endeared by this punk phone case. For the more paranoid and protection-seeking ladies out there, here's a lovely little phone case that can ward off suitors, for fear of having stud imprints on their faces. See vid. - Mark Brooks
