Amazon Patent For AR-enabled Glasses

Amazon-smart-glassesIBTIMES - Oct 18 - The Amazon glasses are expected to work with a mobile device like tablet to display AR content. Unlike some of the recently developed smart glasses, the patent suggests that Amazon's smart glasses would have the ability to switch from a 3D screen to a transparent glass panel. This hints at the presence of mixed reality that would let viewers interact with the real world at the same time wearing the glasses.

Amazon’s Wearables Biz Triples

Amazon wearablesTWICE - Nov 19 - The category is quickly becoming one of its most popular, and has enjoyed a triple-digit sales increase YOY since the company launched a Wearable Technology section in April. It later added more than 200 products, giving the cyber store “the largest selection of wearable devices anywhere,” the company said. The expansion continues this week with the launch of two new categories — smart glasses and smart sports accessories — plus a number of exclusive items.
