SILICON BEAT - Nov 3 - Intel has announced a collection of new chips designed for IoT devices. The Quark D1000 and D2000, available now and by the end of the year, respectively, are standalone microcontrollers. The Quark SE system on a chip, which will be available in the first half of next year, includes gyroscopes, accelerometers and pattern matching software in addition to a microcontroller. Wind Rive rwill offer a pair of operating systems for IoT devices that will allow them to tap into the company's cloud-based platform.
