3DERS - Apr 26 - The Eye of Horus is a 3D printed open source platform that allows a user to control devices simply by looking at them using eye tracking and light beacons to control wireless protocols. The technology can also be used to assist those with disabilities that affect mobility, drivers who would otherwise interact with instruments while driving and as a eye-controlled cursor for a variety of digital applications.

THE MOTLEY FOOL - Apr 26 - Ambarella makes SoCs that allow for low-power, high-definition video compression and processing that is unrivaled by competitors. Ambarella has been picking up steam during the past 12 months, with its stock price skyrocketing nearly 170%. And the company posted strong growth in its latest fiscal fourth quarter 2015 earnings report, as well. Revenue was up 62% YOY, and net income jumped 176%.
SILICON BEAT - Apr 24 - Italian eyewear maker Luxottica CEO Massimo Vian said Friday at a company meeting that it is working on a new version of the Internet-connected specs.
ANDROID HEADLINES - Apr 24 - The band is made of aluminum and contains activity trackers with sensors to monitor fitness and sleep and comes wrapped in a “hypoallergenic wristband with anti-UV and anti-microbial properties. It supports LED notifications for calls and messages and comes with an app that will offer health advice.
WASHINGTON POST - Apr 23 - The Washington Post is focusing on what they call "adaptive journalism"; how to seamlessly translate the content experience across any device the user is on. On their Android product users can set a timer in a phone and tablet app that will push the headlines out. With the Apple Watch app, they will give users a full list of top headlines, but the first story will be something they call "Big Story Small Screen."
PC WORLD - Apr 24 - The watches are the initial offerings of MMT (Manufacture Modules Technologies), a joint venture between Fullpower and various Swiss watchmakers, including Frederique Constant, Alpina, and Mondaine. Each MMT watch comes with a subdial for checking progress toward step- and sleep-tracking goals.
NEWNOWNEXT - Apr 23 - Online Buddies, Jack'd's parent company, has launched the Apple Watch app extension. The new Jack'd Apple Watch app features default responses and emojis for quick responses, bookmarked favorites, and full profile options with multiple public and private photos. Online Buddies also owns Manhunt, and a new dating app - Dandy.

POPULAR SCIENCE - Apr 22 - The Office of Naval Research is working on an ongoing AR Glasses project; allowing Marines to keep their gaze on the battlefield, increasing what the military calls "situational awareness." And they can also facilitate commands and information between ordinary soldiers. The ONR glasses allow SIGINT soldiers to monitor a variety of enemy waveforms, indicating Internet traffic, 2G/SMS, VHF/push-to-talk radio systems, and satellite communications.
SPORT TECHIE - Apr 22 - Tel Aviv, Israel based RideOn augmented goggles ($519) transform and enhance time on the slopes. Users are able to access maps, locate food and entertainment, and set up an obstacle course to ride through, earning points on the way.

SLEEP REVIEW - Apr 22 - According to a new report, more than 75M wearable devices will be deployed in enterprise and industrial environments between 2014 and 2020. The market intelligence firm anticipates that smart watches will be the largest category of wearables in the workplace, followed by fitness trackers and smart glasses.
PHANDROID - Apr 22 - New trademarks filed by the company reveal that they’re working on a Samsung Gear W, and that it might have "Wheel UX." The timing of both trademarks surfacing side-by-side and the term "wheel" for its UX implies that this Samsung Gear W will be round, with a Tizen-based circular user interface customized specifically for such a form factor.
SLASH GEAR - Apr 22 - Microsoft is today building on the bicycling monitoring and adding some context to gathered data. In a strange but ultimately smart turn of events, Microsoft is also announcing they’re no longer making Band a must-have to use their Health app.
