Tech Giants Move To Protect Wearables

POLITICO - Sep 24 - Regulators and lawmakers believe that some wearable health devices should be regulated like other medical devices with regards to the storage and use of consumer health data. Technology giants are furiously lobbying Capitol Hill to keep their hands off wearable data because it doesn’t require the same level of protection as traditional medical records, which are protected by HIPAA.
