MediaTek Chooses Red Bend FOTA

BUSINESS WIRE – July 1 – MediaTek has selected Red Bend Software to enable firmware-over-the-air (FOTA) to update wearables. MediaTek's Aster SoC will be the first chip to integrate Red Bend's FOTA. The integration allows wearables to receive proactive updates throughout the lifetime of the device. According to IDC, the worldwide wearables market will have a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 83.2% growing to $20.6B by 2018.
