WSJ – June 10 – Thalmic Labs has finalized the hardware design for its $149 Myo motion-sensing armband. Myo is designed to work with PC games and VR headsets. It is worn on the forearm, senses 9 axes of motion, and gauges the electrical signals generated when the hand, wrist and fingers are moved. The data is translated into movements of video game characters. Thalmic has made contact with 10k software developers interested in Myo. Developer pre-orders ship in July, regular pre-orders in September, and consumer release in time for the holiday season.
