RUDE BAGUETTE - June 16 - Connected objects typically lack rich interfaces, and require well designed software to make them convenient. Usage data can be analyzed to predict the user's next move, as well as identify the user. For example, the Withings scale can identify the person using it by their previous measurements. The Bike Finder app for Google Glass locates the nearest bike station, but predictive analysis could let the app determine your destination based on past usage and provide navigation. Google's Prediction API is available for developers, and has been used in a Ford prototype for destination prediction. Disney is also analyzing visitor behavior through its MagicBand to generate additional revenues.
