BOSTON GLOBE - May 24 - Start-up, MC10, is leveraging the input of a 9-member panel of pro athletes to develop its Biostamp sports monitor. The 2 sq. inch patch measure biometric data such as heart rate, hydration levels, muscle activity, and sleep patterns. Biostamp will be commercially available next year. European and Australian football and rugby teams were early adopters of wearables. Catapult Sports already has a beeper-sized device in use in this market, though Biostamp's much less intrusive form factor should provide a better user experience.
