E-Textiles Gaining Interest In Industry

PCBDESIGN007 – May 14 – The core of e-textiles is in creating electric fibers that function as components such as sensors, energy harvesting and storage, light emitters, and transistors. These technologies will lead to true smart clothing (beyond embedded electronics), wearables, and patches. The implications span multiple industries, including wearables, fashion, medical, and military. The e-fiber technology is likely more than a decade off, but is gaining the attention of industry and investers alike.
