Cisco: The IoT To Make A Massive Impact Within 10 Years

THE STAR - Mar 4 - Cisco's CEO John Chambers predicts the ‘Internet of Everything' is going to be 10 times bigger than the Internet in terms of impact. "When I came to Cisco there were about a thousand things connected to the Internet, now there are 10B; by the end of the decade there will be 500B." Figures published by the GSMA show that from cars to smart meters and smart cities, there are ~195M objects other than phones accessing the Internet via SIM cards and the figure is growing rapidly.
